State‑Wise Minimum Wage Revisions: April–September 2025

As of April 1, 2025, several Indian states have implemented updated minimum wage rates across unskilled, semi-skilled, and skilled worker categories—often including Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA). These changes reflect inflationary trends and aim to ensure fair compensation.


Key Highlights

Gujarat (Zones I & II)

  • Notification Date: March 26, 2025

  • Applicability: From April 1, 2025

  • Daily Wages: ₹441–₹519.50 depending on skill level and zone.

    • Zone I (Urban / higher cost)

      • Unskilled: ₹452 + ₹45.50 = ₹497.50 (₹12,935/month)

      • Skilled: ₹474 + ₹45.50 = ₹519.50 (₹13,507/month)

    • Zone II (Lower cost)

      • Unskilled: ₹441 + ₹45.50 = ₹486.50 (₹12,649/month)

Delhi

  • Effective April 1, 2025, revised minimum wages for unskilled workers were raised to ₹18,456/month (~₹710/day), rising further for skilled, metric, or graduate categories.

Meghalaya

  • Rates effective January 1, 2025:

    • Unskilled: ₹525/day

    • Semi-skilled: ₹565/day

    • Skilled: ₹605/day

Other States (e.g. UP, Punjab, West Bengal)

  • States like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Punjab, West Bengal, among others, issued revised wage notifications effective April–July 2025. Each state revises rates based on socio-economic factors—typically every 6 months.
